世界麻醉学会联合会( WFSA )是一个由各国麻醉学会联合组成的特殊机构。成员国麻醉学会加入WFSA后,旗下麻醉医师自动成为WFSA会员 。
WFSA于1955年在荷兰席凡宁根举行的第一届世界麻醉医师大会上正式成立, 包括28个创始成员国学会。 现今已有122个成员国学会,其中包括于2008年3月在南非开普敦举行的第14届世界麻醉医师大会上新加入的埃塞俄比亚、格鲁吉亚、象牙海岸、老挝、利比亚和卢旺达。
WFSA的宗旨是为全世界人民提供最高水平的麻醉、疼痛治疗、创伤处理和复苏医疗。
WFSA下属常务委员会(包括教育、出版、安全与质量委员会)的工作者主持各项工作,其工作报告公示于网站。产科麻醉、疼痛、小儿麻醉、创伤和复苏方面的
专业委员会则重点关注其专业领域。

PATM is an important collaboration between the Canadian Anesthesiologists’ Society International Education Foundation (CASIEF) and the WFSA. The mission is making excellent progress training young Palestinian anaesthesiologists.
Palestine Anesthesia Teaching Mission: Call for Volunteers for 2013

We are seeking volunteers for the above mission for the months of March, April and May 2013. Anesthesiologists with a special interest in residency training and education are desirable. Operating room teaching takes place in three hospitals-Makkased Hospital in East Jerusalem, Rafidia Hospital in Nablus and Al-Ahli Hospital in Hebron and formal classroom teaching at the Ramallah Medical Complex in Ramallah each Saturday morning. Essential Pain Management (EPM) Introduced to Latin America

The WFSA recently supported a series of Essential Pain Management courses in Honduras. EPM is a basic pain management course which provides a system for managing pain of all types.
This was the first time that EPM has been taught in Spanish and the first time the course has been taught in the Latin American region. 29 instructors from seven countries were trained and there are plans to run more courses in the region.
